VILLAGE OF THE ARTISTS

• Live the art in the village – Here the artists are not spectators, but the inhabitants temporary village, involved in a creative process that develops between the streets, the squares, the workshops and the historic homes of theThe village of Wisdom.
• A creative workshop under the open sky – The village becomes the canvas, score, and stage. Artists can work in spaces, create urban installations, perform in the streets or to create site-specific works that integrate with the identity of the place.
• The international context and dynamic – The residence is part of a global network of artists, students, and professionals in the cultural field, providing a unique opportunity for growth and interdisciplinary exchange.
• An opportunity for visibility and comparison – Participation in the public performances, exhibitions, concerts and eventswith the possibility of exposure in the annual catalogue of the residence and in the exhibitions of the network, “A Land to be Discovered”.
• Language and cultural training – Artists can participate in the Italian language courses, and cultural activities of Pythagoras Mundus Summer Schooldeepening the knowledge of the local context and expanding their communication skills.
• Meeting with the local arts and crafts – The artists will get the chance to experience traditional techniques such as painting, ceramics, weaving, woodworking, and learning from the master craftsmen of the village and the reinterpretation of the techniques in a contemporary key.
• Dialogue with local and international artists – The residence facilitates the meeting and the collaboration with artists who are already active on the territory and with other participants from all over the world, creating unique synergies that enrich the creative process of each resident.

IMPORTANT: Only 5 scholarships available per month! The registrations are already open for all periods, until the month of October. Applications are evaluated as soon as received, so it is recommended to apply as early as possible to increase the chances of participation and contribute to the programming of a cultural and artistic activities of the residence.

• Contribute to the cultural life of the village – The artists are not just guests, but an active part of the local cultural fabric, in dialogue with the inhabitants, and leaving an impact that goes beyond the period of residence.
• Share your talent – Each week, the artists will have the opportunity to present their work through performances, readings, installations and concerts, transforming the village into an open-air stage where the public and the creative people meet and converse.
• Leave a lasting mark – Each artist will create a permanent work, whether it be a sculpture, a mural, a sound installation or a musical composition, contributing to the growth of the artistic heritage of the village.
• Participate in workshops and interdisciplinary collaborations – The artists will have the opportunity to work together with local artisans, exploring the ancient techniques and experimenting with new artistic languages.
• Get involved in cultural and educational activities – Open studio, meetings with students of the Summer School and moments that are open allow artists to share their creative process and receive new inspirations through the dialogue with the public. 

Here art is not only the creation, but shared experience. Each artist contributes to a process of cultural and social transformation, leaving a mark that will continue to live in time.
